Diabetic Socks
People with diabetes can develop many different foot problems. Foot problems in those with diabetes typically occur as a result of diminished or loss of sensation in the foot called neuropathy or as a result of poor circulation or blood flow to the lower leg, foot and toes. Those with neuropathy or poor circulation should be seen by a foot specialist regularly. Diabetic socks are generally designed without seams to help protect the foot and are designed with non-binding tops so as not to restrict blood flow. Diabetic socks while being very comfortable are also one way to help protect your feet by wicking away moisture, helping prevent irritation & friction and being non-restrictive at the cuff. Those with diabetes should always consult with their physician or podiatrist to discuss the proper sock for their condition.
